This Month – November 2018

Since the Government announced last year the need for 20,000 new houses per year, the developers have been inundating us with proposed sites for housing. As we went to print, I saw a post on Houston Community Council’s Facebook page advising that Gladman Developments has submitted a proposal for a residential development with associated infrastructure and landscaping on the site between Crosslee Poultry Farm and Crosslee Bridge, Barrochan Road, Houston. Further details can be found on the Renfrewshire Council website by clicking on Search for Planning Applications and Appeals and entering 18/0572/NO in the search box. This Month – October 2018

We’ve already been asked about the November Fireworks displays, so here are the ones we know about so far. On Friday 2nd November, Kilbarchan’s Fireworks Display is at Kilbarchan Park from 7.30pm. There’s two on Saturday 3rd November: The Bishopton Scout Group Fireworks display is at the RoF Car Park, Bishopton, gates open 6.30pm, display starts 7.30pm. Kilmacolm Bonfire and Fireworks is at Knapps, gates open at 4.30pm, bonfire lit 6pm. If you are involved in any other events, please send us details for our November issue. [...]
