It&#8217;s all too easy to break the bank and splurge on new clothes, devices and so forth. Here are a few eco-friendly gift ideas to help you stay greener this Christmas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Happy Hampers<\/strong>.\u00a0 Homemade tablet, pickles, jam, shortbread, infused oils and flavoured gins all make very acceptable hamper gifts. Why not get a group of pals together to help. You can share jobs and possibly mull some wine into the bargain! Or, if you are short of time, take a trip to your local farmers market and make up your hamper using their wonderful produce. Kilmacolm Farmers Market is this coming Saturday (8<sup>th<\/sup> Dec 2019).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Go Bamboo<\/strong>. The very first toothbrush you had as a kid is still sitting in landfill somewhere and will do for about another 1,000 years.\u00a0 They are virtually indestructible.\u00a0 Billions of these are thrown away every year.\u00a0 A bamboo toothbrush is the perfect stocking filler for friends and family.\u00a0 Perhaps your local dentist stocks them, if not, why not ask them to.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Make Memories<\/strong>. A voucher for a local restaurant or ticket for a show is another great idea. Making memories, supporting nearby businesses and keeping the carbon footprint minimal means everyone\u2019s a winner.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Cut the E-Waste<\/strong>. Electrical items such as X-boxes or Nintendo Switches can be sourced second hand online at gumtree and often you can find a local seller from whom you can collect. This reduces e-waste \u2013 a growing UK-wide problem.\u00a0 <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Plant a Tree<\/strong>. Local Scottish charities such as Friends of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, The Woodlands Trust\u00a0 and The John Muir Trust are asking you to help restore our woodlands by purchasing a \u2018plant a tree\u2019 gifts. Most start at about \u00a312-15.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>#ShopLocal<\/strong>. There are so many friendly, knowledgeable shop owners and talented local artists and crafts people in our local area, you\u2019re guaranteed to find some fantastic gifts.
