Our Beginnings (1995)
The ‘Kilmacolm Advertiser’ was published back in February 1995 with a simple idea in mind – to give our readers a handy reference of local amenities available and would include:
- News, Events and Local information
- Local Business Advertising and Features
- Classified Section for Sales & Wants
The first edition of the “Kilmacolm Advertiser” was printed as a four page black and white flyer. This then expanded to pulling in the surrounding villages as our readership grew.
The Effect of Covid (2020 – 2022)
Like many businesses, Covid-19 had an effect on how we operated. Unable to print and distribute our magazine with the restrictions, we moved to an online edition with a smaller 210 x 210mm layout in the interim which suited viewing on a PC screen or tablet.
When we started back in print with our September 2020 issue we stayed with the smaller magazine while we got back up and running. However, with business returning, we planned to resume the A4 magazine from the March 2022 issue going forward.
The change wasn’t all bad though! In the meantime it gave us time to change up the style of our magazine with new fonts, new header styles, new page layouts, and a new logo.
