Let’s get back on track…

The last few weeks seem like a breath of fresh air – venues are opening up again and we have more real, live events to bring you! The Largs Viking Festival is on, Doors Open Days are taking place, Erskine’s Bike Meet has its licence to thrill, and the Lochwinnoch Arts Festival is in full swing. Kilmacolm Dramatic Society is even rehearsing for their pantomime Aladdin in November!

Renfrewshire Council has announced that The Spree and the Paisley Halloween Festival can go ahead this year. A welcome return to the town for these very popular events. The performing arts has been one of the many hard-hit sectors over the past 18 months and we are delighted to see them back in action. Of course, all events are subject to last minute change and you should check with the venue before heading out. But hopefully this is a sign of getting back to a community full of fun events.

The new ‘normal’ of being a more outdoors society has brought about a surge in farmers markets. Adding to Kilmacolm and Paisley, we now have Bishopton, Renfrew and Erskine. These events bring in customers from further afield to villages and towns, helping the local businesses increase their trade.

The Scotland Loves Local Awards are taking place again for 2021. We were thrilled to hear that so many local businesses won awards last year for going above and beyond to help their customers during the lockdown months. We look forward to seeing the winners for 2021!
